Powerful Kids offer social,
emotional and wellbeing workshops for children with a focus on empowerment, resilience and social skills.
My name is Rebekah and I am a certified Girl Power instructor with qualifications in Education and Psychology. I am also a mother of two young, energetic children and absolutely love reading books.
My teaching career began in 2009. After a few years in a Grade 3/4 composite classroom at a school in Melbourne, I quickly identified the intensity and complexity of friendships for young girls. Inspired by my students and my thirst to learn how to support our young people, I studied psychology and began research in social and developmental psychology with a focus on relational aggression, conflict resolution, and the inner workings of female and male relationships.
With the increase of technology and social media, our modern world is very different to what you or I remember as children. Even though we are more connected than ever, there is a continuous increase in social issues, a lack of social resilience and communication breakdowns. Our children struggle to effectively process and interpret social information, as they try to figure out where they fit in the world.
As a mother to two children and an experienced educator, my authentic, passionate and fun approach empowers young people with the skills, language, and self-confidence to develop self and social awareness, healthier friendships, and a growth mindset.
